I know this can be trying time of year to be a vegan. Everyone cramming buttery cookies in your face and Grandma asking you for the umteeth time why you can’t eat her mashed potatoes. This year, regardless of if you’re hosting or just a guest, be prepared and start a tasty holiday tradition of your own.
When you’re looking to replace the main event, I like the Gardein Savory Stuffed Turkey or Holiday Roast. You can find it in the freezer aisle. Trader Joe’s also has a pretty fabulous vegan holiday roast with stuffing and gravy in the refrigerated section. Next up, mashed potatoes. Not a big deal. Swap out butter with Earth Balance, add some cashew cream and tada. Tasty as the original. Stuffing is a snap. Just buy the boxed variety and add vegetable stock and earth balance in place of the usual stuff. And so long as your cranberry sauce doesn’t have gelatin (some canned and most homemade varieties don’t) you’re good to go.
