Vegan Tempeh Bacon Lettuce Tomato (BLTA) Sandwich

This vegan version of the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) is a super simple sandwich that you can make in minutes, with a little muti-tasking. Just start your favorite fakin’ bacon cooking, pop your bread in the toaster and prep your veggies while everything a-cookin’! Lunch in minutes. I used the Benevolent Bacon for this one. Aside from having a pretty fantastic name, it was super flavorful and easy to cook. I also like the simple tempeh strips as an alternative.

  • 8 strips tempeh bacon
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1/2 large avocado
  • 2 tbsp. vegan mayonnaise
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread


  1. Cook tempeh bacon according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, toast bread and slice tomatoes and avocado.
  3. Assemble and enjoy!
