Fall doesn't truly arrive in southern California until November but today was a much-needed sneak peek. A chilly, overcast day in September is quite uncommon but so incredibly welcome! It inspired me to share another festive spread from Vegan Boards, my second cookbook that I released earlier this year. If you don't have your copy yet, perhaps this array of seasonal fruits, veggies, snacks, and soup shooters will give you a nudge in the right direction. The Fall Harvest Board is one of my absolute favorite boards in the entire book!
Every board in Vegan Boards has at least one homemade recipe on it so you can feel good about the fresh foods you serve your family and guests. This board happens to have two recipes on it, which you'll find indexed in the back of the cookbook. Here we have a batch of Butternut Squash Soup Shooters, which is a really fun way to serve soup in a sip-able format. You'll also make a batch of Maple & Date Sweet Potato Dip, which is quite possibly the most delicious sweet potato recipe I've had the pleasure of creating. Graham cracker and sliced apple make perfect dippers!
Dried fruit, Belgian endive, petite carrots, and grapes lend more fall flavor, color, and texture to this festive vegan board. Pro tip: make it easy for your guests to graze on grapes by using scissors to snip big clusters into grab-able ones. Green grapes are my favorite, but I think these tiny champagne grapes add such lovely contrast. They're super fun to eat, too!
You can find Vegan Boards at most major retailers including Amazon, Target, and Barnes and Noble. That said, I encourage you to explore independent bookstores to see if you can grab a copy locally while supporting a small business. If you already have a copy of Vegan Boards, please consider writing an honest review online. Your review helps others interested in vegan cooking and entertaining find the recipes and serving ideas they're looking for. While you're at it, leave me a comment below and let me know which board has been your favorite or the most fun to create.
