    Chipotles in Adobo Forever

Ever wonder what to do when you buy a can of Chipotles in Adobo and just need one for a recipe? Well you could drop one in the food processor with some vegan mayo and make chipotle mayo... then what? Let them sit in the refrigerator until they’ve developed a thick layer of fur and then toss them. That’s what happens. Instead let’s save them using this super easy method.

    1. Line a baking sheet or other dish with parchment (or wax) paper. Make sure whatever dish you choose fits in your freezer.
    2. Spread the chilies out on the parchment.
    3. Pop them in the freezer for an hour or so until they’re firmed up.
    4. Transfer them to a freezer bag and store until ready to use.

There you have it, chipotles in adobo FOREVER. Looking for a great smokey chipotle recipe to try?

So simple. Why have I not thought of this before? I freeze other things, but the Chipotles are always left in the fridge to go bad. Thanks for the no-brainer.

@Lisa - I hate to throw things away. Well stuff is no problem, but food should be saved by any means necessary!

      Yes! I did wonder!

I also use this method for freezing individual servings of avocado for baby. I pull out a chunk to add some healthy fat to whatever he's eating...avocado is surprisingly good mashed in spaghetti for example!
