Product Review: UB Super Nutritional Shake

    Apr 21, 2014 · by Katie Koteen · Modified: Apr 21, 2014

    UB
In the sea of vegan supplements, we’ve found a gem — the UB Super Nutritional Shake. Fortunately for me, it was easy as walking to my mailbox. They’re well on their way to a store shelf near you, but until then, you can order it up online. This handy shake boasts 16g plant-based protein and a complete amino acid profile—nothing not to like! Now I’m not one to entirely skip a meal, not a chance. And I hate the label meal replacement shake, but these do come in handy as heck when when you wake up late Monday morning. Shake it up, maybe pop in a piece of toast as a sidekick and you're good to go. They’re also the perfect power snack for a long day at the office. Definitely packs more of a punch than your average bar. So these shakes taste awesome and all, but they’re also made by a solid startup company with sustainable sourcing and high quality ingredients. The owner, Scott Kanyok, was kind enough to answer a few questions about their product below.

Learn more about UB Super or order online.

    • Prebiotics, probiotics and digestive enzymes
    • Non-GMO
    • Gluten and soy free

    What makes your product different?
First and foremost UB Super was not designed from a margin perspective but from efficacy. What I use and my family uses everyday is what is on store shelves. We have obtained the highest quality source of each ingredient and they are not cheap right down to the natural flavors. We met with the indigenous in Amazon and will continue with each aspect of our supply chain through out the world to tell the story of why that superfood is in UB Super. The reason we trademarked "Keeping It Real" is because that is the ethos of the brand.

What motivated you in creating UBReal?
I was motivated from my immune system issues post accident. I felt that what I discovered could benefit anyone from a professional athlete to a librarian to children. Being that Super is whole food and earth based its completely bio available. I believe what we have accomplished is creating a new paradigm in what fast food is and what fast food can be but with many health benefits.

What is your good loop promise?
We wanted to start from ground zero and do everything right. We will become B corp certified. We believe that people want to make better choices for themselves and there families with less guilt associated and for us that is what the Good loop represents right down to the recyclable aspects of the packaging to the economic viability of the indigenous which will in turn lead to less deforestation of the rain forests.

UB Super has vegan and non vegan options. The non vegan whey product is labelled as such. The vegan options are plainly marked vegan. I hope that clears it up for you.☺

I am a bit confused, this product contains animal bi-products so I am unsure about finding this on a reportedly "Vegan" site??
      thanks
