Cleaning food processors and blenders is always a chore, especially the blender, with all its bits and pieces. Inevitably the blade pierces your dish gloves, rendering them useless, and without fail the little rubber gasket thing always falls down into the garbage disposal. Argh! To avoid all this drama and make cleaning up these appliances a snap, try filling the blender bowl half way (food processor just about an inch) with warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Put the bowl back on the base (don’t forget to put the lid on!) and run the blender/processor for about 30 seconds. Then all you have to do is rinse, maybe a light wash and dry. Give it a try next time.

I like the Kitchen Aid 12 cup processor. It comes with a 4 cup mini bowl that I tend to use quite a bit. It's isn't the most affordable (about $200), but it's well made and versatile.
