You don’t need me to tell you that soda is bad for you. We all know it’s loaded with sugar, salt, and yucky preservatives that Coca-Cola execs probably can’t even pronounce. And the calorie count? Don’t get me started. Knowing all of this, why do so many Americans still drink the stuff?
For many, the quick response is, “It tastes good!” This may be true, but you know what else tastes good? Switching to a vegan meal plan where you can still enjoy super tasty foods and beverages without signing yourself up for heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.
As proof that you don’t need to gulp gallons of soda to satisfy your flavor cravings, we came up with a list of seven beautiful, fruit-infused waters that are healthy and hydrating. Best of all, you can whip up a batch from the comfort of your kitchen using items you probably already have in your fridge. Are you thirsty yet?
1. Cucumber, Lime, and Mint
In this fruit-infused water, lime and mint help regulate your digestive system while the cucumber provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
2. Apple Cinnamon
This fruit-infused water is perfect for fall. Apples are loaded with vitamins and minerals, and cinnamon revs your metabolism.
3. Citrus and Cucumber
When you don’t have enough time to squeeze your own orange juice in the morning, this citrus and cucumber infused water is a tasty (and less sugary) alternative.
4. Blackberry and Sage
The flavor of sage is subtle and refreshing in this fruit-infused water. Bonus: The blackberries turn your glass a delicious shade of purple.
5. Strawberry, Lemon, and Basil
Adding basil to water gives it an amazing freshness, while the strawberry and lemon add just the right amount of sweet tang.
6. Grapefruit and Rosemary
While many consider grapefruit to be an acidic fruit, it actually leaves your body in a more alkaline state due to its high mineral content. And Rosemary in anything is just divine.
7. Watermelon and Mint Water
Watermelon infused water is naturally sweet, making it a healthier option than juice. Plus, the mint adds a delightful mojito flavor you’ll love.
8. Aloe Vera Lemonade Slush
This summery slushy drink is so refreshing and hydrating. The combination of soothing aloe vera juice, lemons, and fresh mint simply can't be beat!

I just made some watermelon-cucumber-mint infused water. In a gallon jar, I added 6 cups of chopped watermelon, 2 chopped cucumbers, a handful of mint (washed and chopped) from my garden, and the juice of 1 lemon. I then filled the jar with filtered water, stirred, and stuck it in the fridge for a couple of hours. DIVINE. It's still great 24 hours later, I kept topping up the jar with more filtered water. I'll be tossing the fruit tonight and making more!
