The Best No-Bake Vegan Chocolate Pie

    vegan chocolate pie this recipe

If you're a fan of chocolate and dessert, but also want to stick to a vegan diet, then this simple vegan chocolate pie recipe is just for you! This indulgent dessert is rich, creamy, and packed with chocolatey goodness, making it the perfect treat for any occasion. Plus, it's super easy to make and requires only a few simple ingredients, making it perfect for beginner bakers.

    The Easiest Chocolate Pie Method

This is the easiest pie you will ever make. Mark my words! The filling for this pie requires only five simple ingredients and comes together in less than 15 minutes. The only hard part about this recipe is waiting for it to chill in the refrigerator before you can eat it.

You start by gently melting your chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler. I usually just go with the microwave and work in short, 30 second increments to make sure the chocolate doesn't burn. Once you get it about 75% melted, you can usually just stir it gentle until the rest of the pieces melt.

I'm a dark chocolate gal, but you can use any kind of chocolate chips you like, just double-check that they're dairy-free. Enjoy Life is a good brand of vegan chocolate chips. Trader Joe's chocolate chips are also dairy-free. Pascha is a newer brand that is also really good, if you can find it. If you go with semi-sweet, I would taste the filling before adding the maple syrup and make adjustments to the sweetness as needed.

Once your chocolate is melted, you'll add the extra-firm silken tofu, vanilla extract, pure maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener), oat milk (or any non-dairy milk, like almond milk) and melted chocolate to your blender or food processor. Either machine works great to get a really smooth, silky consistency for the chocolate mousse filling.

After you've made your chocolate filling, you can pour it gently into your favorite store-bought or homemade pie crust. Store-bought graham cracker crusts are one of those wonderfully, accidentally vegan products.

    Easy Oreo Pie Crust (Vegan)

In the pie crust photo here, I've made my own Oreo cookie crust for an absolute chocolate lover's dream of a pie! All you need for the Oreo pie crust is 24 mashed up Oreos, a little melted coconut oil (or melted vegan butter), and a pie plate.

Once you've added your filling to the crust, pop it in the refrigerator to cool for a good four hours, even overnight. For the pie to set well you have to be patient with the chilling.

Also be sure to use extra-firm silken tofu. You might be able to get away with firm silken tofu, but for best results go with the extra-firm variety. If you haven't used silken tofu before, it's the one that is shelf stable. Not the one in the refrigerator section of your grocery store.

Before serving you can top your pie top with whipped cream and anything else you like! You can make your own vegan whipped cream or buy it at the store— look in the freezer section. We like the vegan whipped creams from So Delicious and Truwhip.

This looks good. Is it really dense, or more pudding-like? It would be nice to know how much tofu. Once that's covered, I will make it!

Hi Meese! Sorry I missed your comment over the holidays! It's somewhere in between dense and pudding. More like a mousse. You'll need one box of extra-firm silken tofu, which is usually around 12 oz. Let me know how you like it. 🙂
