We’re in the final stretch to Thanksgiving! Can you believe it? This is the first year I’ve really noticed a piqued interest in vegan Thanksgiving recipes among my omni friends and acquaintances. Of course, I’m thrilled and have about a million to recommend. But I also have to remember to keep my enthusiasm to a reasonable level. The first holiday season eating a plant-based diet – and even the second, third, and fourth – can be tricky to navigate.
Many family traditions are made and shared around the dinner table, and re-writing the holiday script is, understandably, a little overwhelming. It’s this very reason that a lot of our recipes are designed to be transitional. Take our Vegan Sausage and Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash, for example. It’s incredibly hearty and satisfying as a main course. If you’re making a dish to share, our Green Bean Casserole with Coconut Bacon does a fantastic job of satisfying the craving for traditional Thanksgiving grub without meat or dairy products. Of course, we can’t forget vegetable-forward sides and I-can’t-believe-its-not-vegan desserts.
All of this is to say that surviving the holidays as a vegan is entirely possible. With a little bit of conviction and a whole lot of delicious veggie options to choose from, your plate and belly will be full in the best way possible. Below, we’ve rounded up 28 vegan Thanksgiving recipes that will test your culinary skills and impress every guest at your dinner table. From appetizers, to hearty mains, to easy sides, to vegan desserts, we’ve got you covered this Thanksgiving from start to finish.
Oh, and those leftovers that will soon be taking up precious fridge space? Our Vegan Thanksgiving Hot Pockets offer a fun and easy way to enjoy them. Just remember to pick up a few vegan pie crusts on your last-minute run to the grocery store!
