Super Bowl LV is coming up this Sunday. Do you typically tune into the game? To be honest, I don't really care about football but I do enjoy the tradition of plugging into the couch and watching Super Bowl commercials. Whether you're really into the game or only tune in for the halftime show, I think we can all agree that Super Bowl Sunday isn't complete without savory snacks. This Game Day Cauliflower Wings Board is straight from the pages of my new cookbook, Vegan Boards, and it's the perfect spread for sharing with a small group!
This Game Day Cauliflower Wings Board has not one, not two, but THREE different wing flavors. You've got:
Classic Buffalo Cauliflower Wings
Sticky Sesame Cauliflower Wings (my favorite)
Sweet & Spicy Adobo Cauliflower Wings
Depending on the size of your cauliflower head you can expect to make 75 to 100 wings total - perfect for feeding a small group of sports fans. Or non-sports fans! I mean, regardless of your interest in football, how can you resist these savory, saucy, tender cauliflower bites?
There is a degree of prep involved in creating this Game Day Cauliflower Wings Board. The good news is that a lot of it can be readied ahead of time. Pre-slice your celery and carrots and store the veggie sticks in cold water in the fridge. Make the vegan ranch the day before, or use store-bought for a shortcut. Fresh pineapple can be tricky (and messy) to slice perfectly, so I like to buy it pre-sliced when I'm in a crunch.
If you like the variety of flavors and textures on this Game Day Cauliflower Wings Board, you're going to LOVE the 49 other plant-based appetizer, meal, seasonal, and dessert boards in Vegan Boards. The hardcover book is stuffed with beautiful photos, creative serving ideas for small groups, and over 60 new vegan recipes you won't find anywhere else. The cookbook is available for pre-order on Amazon and if you do purchase the book prior to its March 2nd release date you can email veganboards@quarto.com to get two bonus boards delivered to your inbox digitally!
By the way, you don't need an official board to make and serve these cauliflower wings. An extra-large baking sheet or even a hunk of plywood covered with parchment paper would work perfectly! Have fun styling your board and don't stress if it doesn't look perfect. These saucy cauliflower wings will be eaten so fast you'll barely have time to snap a photo! Keep scrolling for your exclusive sneak peek at the cauliflower wing and sauce recipes from Vegan Boards.

Cauliflower Wings
- Yield: 75 cauliflower wings 1x
Description
This is the base recipe for my battered and baked cauliflower wings. The sauce recipes are down below!
Ingredients
- 1 large head of cauliflower, chopped into florets
- 1¼ cups whole wheat flour
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Few twists of black pepper
- 1½ cups oat milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375F degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Combine the whole wheat flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a very large bowl. Whisk in the oat milk until fully combined; the mixture should be the consistency of pancake batter.
- Add the cauliflower florets to the bowl and use a rubber spatula to mix and gently coat each piece in the batter.
- Shake excess batter from each piece of cauliflower as you place the florets a single layer on two baking sheets. Bake the cauliflower wings for 15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the wings from the oven, but leave the oven on.
- Transfer a third of the cauliflower wings to a large mixing bowl and pour in one of the wing sauces below. Stir and coat the cauliflower wings in the sauce.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer each piece of cauliflower back to the baking sheet, leaving excess sauce behind in the bowl. Reserve the sauce for later.
- Wipe out the mixing bowl and repeat with the remaining cauliflower wings and sauces.
- Return the sauced cauliflower wings to the oven and bake for 5 minutes more. Remove the wings from the oven and brush each flavor with extra sauce.
- Serve the cauliflower wings on the Game Day Cauliflower Wing Board.
Classic Buffalo Sauce
Description
This is the spicy wing sauce most commonly used to make cauliflower wings. It's a classic! I used Frank's RedHot sauce but you can use your favorite hot sauce.
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup hot sauce
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon maple syrup
Instructions
- Combine the hot sauce, olive oil, vegan Worcestershire sauce, and maple syrup in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.
- Continue to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly. Remove from heat and toss with a third of the cauliflower wings. Bake the wings as directed above.
Sticky Sesame Garlic Sauce
Description
This sauce has an Asian-inspired flavor profile that is incredibly delicious. The sesame seeds add visual interest and texture to these cauliflower wings.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon tapioca flour
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for serving
- 1 green onion (dark green part only), thinly sliced, for serving
Instructions
- Combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, and maple syrup in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over low heat, then stir in the tapioca flour.
- Continue to stir until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and toss with a third of the cauliflower wings. Bake the wings as directed above.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the cauliflower wings with sesame seeds and sliced green onion.
Sweet & Spicy Adobo Sauce
Description
If you love the sweet and spicy flavor combination, this sauce will be your favorite. Use more ore less adobo sauce depending on your heat tolerance.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 to 3 tablespoons sauce from a can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine the olive oil, adobo sauce, chili powder, maple syrup, and salt in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
- Toss with a third of the cauliflower wings. Bake the wings as directed above.
